Shape the future with AI

Join Revenue.AI and help turn cutting-edge AI into solutions that matter.

Data Engineer

Location: We prioritize candidates located in Serbia, Hungary and Poland.

We offer a hybrid work setup, with one day per week in the office.

About us

Revenue.AI is revolutionizing how businesses approach pricing, revenue management, and commercial excellence through cutting-edge AI-driven solutions. By combining real-time analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence, we empower companies to make smarter, data-driven decisions.

We are looking for a Data Engineer role built for the AI era.

The pipelines are still the job. What’s changed is what they feed, and how much of the repetitive work you can hand to AI. You’ll have room to use it throughout your own work and to help decide where it goes next in our data platform.

You will co-design and develop our cloud-based SaaS solutions. You will be also collaborating to a wide range of FMCG and Commodity Trading clients interested in Data engineering consulting services.

You will interact with a group of professionals to elicit business, architectural and non-functional requirements and translate them into robust, scalable, operable analytical solutions that work well within the overall data architecture. You will design applications based on identified architecture, technology landscape, IT standards, and enterprise roadmaps; , and support implementation of design by resolving complex technical issues faced by the project team during the full development cycle.

Role overview

  • Analyse database designs and enhance the models to support business use cases.
  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to collect, process, and transform data from various sources into a usable format.
  • Build the data foundations that AI systems depend on — including pipelines for unstructured sources like documents, transcripts and tickets.
  • Use AI in your own work, setting up new pipelines, testing, documentation, monitoring, and automate what you find yourself repeating.
  • Convert large volumes of structured and unstructured customer data using advanced analytical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain data warehouses, databases, and other data storage solutions.
  • Optimize data infrastructure for performance and scalability.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data-related issues.
  • Build in data quality and lineage for AI workloads
  • Turn analysed data into actionable insights and business value.
  • Communicate effectively with different departments and roles (product managers, engineers) to discuss complex data-driven findings and technical matters.
  • Spot where AI can replace manual data work across the team, and drive those initiatives rather than waiting for them to be assigned.

We believe that you’ll enjoy this role if

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks
  • Startup experience
  • A strong communicator who escalates early rather than waiting for a problem to resolve itself.
  • Able to hold the big picture.
  • Solution-oriented and accountable: when something goes wrong you come with options, not with reasons why it was not you.

What you’ll need to be successful

As must-have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role (several years).
  • Strong Python and PySpark skills for data processing and automation
  • Proficiency with some of the visualization tools
  • Advanced SQL skills and relational database management.
  • Experience with data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL processes.
  • Experience with data engineering tools and technologies, such as Apache Spark / MLlib.
  • Expertise in CI/CD principles & tools (e.g. Azure Devops) and Version Control Systems (e.g. Git).
  • Hands-on experience building pipelines that feed AI or machine learning systems — including messy, unstructured sources. You can explain what you built and where it broke.
  • Practical use of AI in your own engineering work, and the judgement to know where it helps and where it doesn’t.
  • Working English fluency.

As nice-to-have:

  • Domain understanding (Commodity trading, CPG, Retail or Life sciences)
  • Experience with business analytics or commercial data (e.g., market sensing, pricing, promotions)
  • Experience with orchestration tooling (Airflow, Azure Data Factory, dbt or similar).
